Asia Society and the College Board are pleased to organize and host the National Chinese Language Conference – the first large-scale meeting of U.S. education leaders to promote Chinese language education and global competence among U.S. students.
Intended Audience
Policy makers, school board members, state or local education administrators, school principals and teachers, university faculty, parents, and concerned citizens are welcome.
Speakers
U.S. and international political, economic, and educational leaders share visions, plans, or programs for Chinese language education in the global age will speak at the Conference.
Earn CEUs
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) will be awarded for participation in the conference. Participants who attend the Pre-Conference School Visits (.35 CEU) and all Breakout Session periods during the main conference (.65 CEU) will be eligible to earn one CEU (10 contact hours).
Expected Outcomes You will make connections with stakeholders in the Chinese and World Languages education field.
You will learn how to:
* make the case for Chinese in your school and community; * establish and expand meaningful Chinese language programs to all students; * model your program after best practices and research; * prepare or find highly qualified Chinese language teachers; * obtain information, technical assistance, and resources.
