The Facts • Since the 1990 US Census Bureau, the Asian population has increased by 48 percent.

49 percent of Asians in the United States live in the West, 20 percent
live in the Northeast, 19 percent lived in the South and 12 percent
live in the Midwest.
• By 2020, it is projected that there will be 20 million APAs in the United States.
• Korean, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese and Asian Indian are the top Asian American populations in the United States.
• Asian Americans have approximately $230 billion in spending power in the consumer market.
• From 1992 to 1997 there was a growth of 30 percent in Asian Americanowned companies and 46 percent growth in revenue.
• More than 2.2 million workers are employed by Asian American-owned businesses.
