FAST FACTS

• In 2002, there were 1.1 million firms owned by Asians and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders. These firms generated the largest amount of gross receipts compared to any other minority group, $331 billion combined, which represented 50 percent of all minority receipts in that year.
• Asian-owned firms employed 2.2 million workers and Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders employed 29,000 workers.
• Businesses owned by Asians, and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders were more likely to export and be franchised firms compared to any other group of firms operating in 2002.
